2019 Goal Talk With the Guys

Here’s the last episode we recorded right before Ed even knew he would undergo a triple bypass heart surgery on January 14th. As you can hear in this podcast episode, the guys have some big plans for 2019. Joe opens with his plans to take a month straight of vacation. And he has no plans of taking Ed...and the guys duke it out whether taking your parents with you to the Caribbean was a good idea. Guess which side Ed’s on? But Joe has even bigger plans on the business side including joining a peer group, getting a business coach, and to rev up his K9 business in DC, Maryland and Virginia. If you’re in the DMV area (not Department of Motor Vehicles) you better watch out for Joe’s new venture, they’ll be having prepaid K9 packages coming out very similar to what they currently offer in the New York Tri-State area. As for Ed? He says, “Lose some weight, travel some more, stay healthy, have fun.” Ed’s got plans to go to the Kalahari Lodge for some time with the grandkids, swimming, drinking and swapping more stories. But it ain’t all about vacation with these guys. Watch out for the Colony Confidential team on January 30th at the New York Pest Management Association’s Bedbug Seminar. One thing Joe and Ed agree about though? Colony Confidential needs to go on the field more and that’s something we all wanna hear (and see!) Small Business SheehananigansIt ain’t just fun and games on this podcast. Joe and Ed discuss the latest policy raising minimum wage in New York. It’ll largely affect small businesses who have less than 11 employees, raising wages from the standard $13.50 to $15 per hour.“The thing that gets me crazy is that small business in America is 50 million dollars or less, that’s how you’re considered a small business. Which I also think is ridiculous. I think once you’re above ten million, how can you be considered a small business? But I understand compared to billion dollar corporations, that makes sense. But they should make a new thing.” Joe laments.Ed is more concerned about how the raise might cost people their jobs. “I believe with this $15 an hour, a lotta people are gonna lose their jobs.” You can listen to the full podcast episode on iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud and GooglePlay. What do you think?
